I finally made the switch to WordPress. It took for-freaking-ever to get the site looking the way I wanted… I loathe the design of the Kubrick theme. About halfway through editing the CSS and PHP code, I realized I should have used a different theme as a base. But I’m lazy and stubborn, so I pushed on. Getting everything to display the same in Opera, Firefox, and IE was a nightmare. This guy I met on the WordPress.org forums, spencerp, was a huge help though. (He’s a lot more affable than you’d expect from reading his blog.) This site still doesn’t display right in Safari, but so what? Screw the Safari users.

There was a post on ATOT recently that asked users what their last meal would be. Here’s mine:

Entrees: Four pieces of sushi of each of the following: salmon, tuna, yellowtail, red snapper. An 8 oz. tenderloin steak, rare, with teriyaki sauce. Half an order of General Tso’s Chicken over steamed white rice. Half a tuna salad sandwich with ketchup, grilled. A pork chop with applesauce.

Sides: A baked potato with chives, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and butter. Brussels sprouts in butter. Spinach with butter.

Dessert: A sliver of cheesecake. A cup of Maggie Moo’s “Better Batter” ice cream with crushed almonds.

Drinks: Coca-cola with ice and Dasani bottled water, chilled.

Isn’t that beautiful? A great menu is like a work of art.

Here’s a sketch I did of General Martok while watching DS9 the other week.

I wanted this first comment to be epic. I wanted it to be something that scholars would look back on and they would tell their students, “Behold, the only thing greater than the blog itself. Look upon it my subjects, and witness the greatest single work of literary excellence the world has ever seen or will ever see again!” I was also thinking about posting a nude pic or something. But then I remembered Hank’s mom will read this and she may not appreciate that. So, after a lot of thought and a lot of soul searching, the words finally came to me. Like words ablaze in the skies of heaven. Burned in my mind so vividly that they will be with me for the rest of my days, controlling my every decision and haunting my dreams. Hank, I say to thee:

    yay. new format.

Hot damn, the council of JONES approves the new look…this time.
