1:37 am, Saturday, May 20th, 2006Brett and I went bowling again. Did three games like last time. I scored 77, 101, and 102, in that order. Not great, but not embarrassing either (I think). The ball I got this time was kind of messed up — the finger holes were too loose and the thumb hole was a bit tight. Kept slipping off my hand in weird ways. But there were teenagers necking in front of the other ball shelves, so I didn’t bother trying to find a better one. My technique has improved quite a bit since Brett pointed out that I was ending on the wrong foot. Apparently it’s best to make your last step with the foot opposite the hand you hold the ball with. That way, you can bend the leg on your dominant side as you release the ball and you’ll keep your balance better.
Oh, I forgot to mention this when I was talking about Runaways: What was the deal with Runaways v2 #7 and #8? The illustration in those was so godawful I almost gave up on the series. The way they drew Nico was memorably repulsive. After seeing that, it’s hard to believe Marvel actually cares about the comic.
I picked up the 3.5 edition of the Player’s Handbook and the Savage Species guide at Game-A-Lot today. Savage Species is really cool because it provides rules for playing “monster race” PCs. I’m hoping the DM will let me run a gnoll ranger.
Found this on 4chan… looks cool. Anyone know what it’s from?

Brett must be good people, I tried to explain the leg thing to beeflips but his response was something along the lines of
“It’s my hot body! I do what I want!!”
I’m not sure but I think he may have been hitting on me.

Sadly, the rules in Savage Species are outdated and pretty unbalancing. 3.5 does have rules for Monster PCs, but they require a higher-level start.

They should still work for my purposes; the gnoll template is very simple (stat adjustments and +1 AC) and I don’t plan to use the “monster class” sections at all. The ECL isn’t much of a problem since I plan to knock out a racial bonus or two to bring it down to campaign requirements.

I’d much rather be playing GURPS or HackMaster, but a game’s a game. I’ve never turned down an invitation just because of the system.

All I have to say is I agree with Jones, he is a god among men.

It seems I can’t leave Jones alone with my computer….shame.

Hank don’t you think beefy’s lame attempt at a cover up for his heartfelt expression of love for me is sad at best, I mean come on man he’s using the “I left him alone with my computer” excuse, how transparent can you get beefy?
